Dale V. Doty, 83, of Footville, WI passed away on May 4th 2016 at Rock Haven Nursing Home in Janesville with his family by his side. Dale was born July 4th 1932 in Hampshire, IL. the son of Raymond and Irene (Getzleman) Doty. Dale was the youngest of 9 children. He served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955. On February 12, 1955 he married Evelyn L. Hansen, she passed away January 24, 2007. They were married close to 52 years. Dale farmed the family farm until 1972 when he was offered a position at the feed mill in Footville. He worked there 5 years and then went to work at Baker manufacturing in Evansville as a machinist until his retirement. Dale enjoyed bowling, golf and playing cards of all kinds, but his favorites were pinochle and euchre. He loved being outdoors in his yard doing gardening and especially enjoyed getting back to farming by helping on his daughter and son-in-law’s farm. He was always building or tinkering with something in his garage and was always available to help on any project his family could dream up. He enjoyed following high school sports, Packers, Bears, Badgers and most of all the Chicago Cubs. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hanover, WI.
He is survived by his 2 children, Lori (Robert) Terry of Janesville, Debbie (Fred) Lietz of Edgerton, 2 grandchildren, Megan (Adam Riley) Terry and Nathan (Amy Carlson) Terry of Janesville, sisters-in-law Marie Doty of Edgerton, Tea Doty of Huntley, IL, Mabel Holze of Stockton, IL, Caroline Doty of Genoa, IL, sister in law and brother-in-law Marjorie and Mearl Maynard of Burlington, IL and friend of many years, Herman Buehler of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, brothers, Harold, Everett, Ronald, Dean, Ralph and William and sisters Juanita and Rita.
The family would like to thank the staff of both Agrace Hospice and Rock Haven Nursing Home for the wonderful care that they provided our Dad in his last months.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Rev. Guy Vogel will officiate. Private burial will be Tuesday at Bethel Cemetery.   Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice.
